Captain Michael Van
Jones grew up in Long Island, New York, fishing the
waters of the Great South Bay for striped bass,
bluefish, weakfish, flounder and fluke. "Fishing
with my grandfather, as a young boy, left me some of my
fondest memories." Michael moved to Florida in
1985 and realized a dream come true. He found heaven on
earth, and FISHING 12 months of the year! "I thought
to myself it can't get any better than this..."
Then "BAM".
He hit pay-dirt again, meeting his wife Kay. Growing up
in Canton, Ohio, in the midst of a fishing crazy family,
Kay not only knew how to fish but cleaned them as well.
She honed her skills, spending countless

days on Lake Erie,
catching walleye and perch as well as small and
largemouth bass. Truly a match made in
heaven! At our
house we have substituted the words 'I Love You"
with "Get The Net", end of story." The Van
Jones' are a fishing family.
Michaels promise to
you: "I will pursue the waters in search of fish, as
if I were fishing with my own family or friends."
